Newpark is a small family-run company with over two decades of Early Years’ experience. Our Montessori nursery school in Highbury has been carefully designed to offer your child a homely and same environment in a beautifully restored and well maintained detached Victorian house in a tree-lined residential street. The nursery has two spacious and beautifully equipped classrooms; a dedicated Infant Community for our babies and toddlers, and a Montessori School for our pre-school children that opens directly onto the rear garden courtyard. Additionally, we have an additional garden at the front of the property enabling further opportunities for children to explore and learn in the fresh air. A short distance away is Highbury Fields and Clissold Park – perfect outdoor locations for escorted excursions. Access is easy by car, Canonbury Station is a 5 minute walk away, and a local bus with a stop a short distance from the nursery gates runs to Highbury and Islington Underground station; there are numerous other buses in the vicinity also.
We feel it is our duty as Early Years educators to engender a positive attitude and a sense of excitement in a child towards his or her learning. Our focus is on encouraging independence in children and stimulation them with meaningful experiences and activities aimed at developing the pleasure of new thought, imagination, reasoning and discovery. Each day in our care, our children benefit from a carefully crafted plan of activities based on their physical, intellectual, linguistic, emotional and social needs. Our carers draw on the knowledge they build by observation of their key children and appraisal of the holistic development of each individual child. From this they are able to devise an exciting and stimulation daily plan for each child which incorporates outdoor, indoor group and one-to-one activities.
